Notes in the burial register reveal that they were dug up when the new vestry was built over their plot in the churchyard in 1881. The first entry, for LSW.IV, reads ‘John Pittman, Esqr (late Captain in his Majesty’s Navy) obit May ye 8th. And was buried May 11th.
